Athletic leap into top three
Annan moved up to third in Scottish League Two after scoring twice late on to come from behind and beat ten-man Elgin 2-1 at Galabank.
The visitors dominated for large parts of the game and deservedly took the lead after 64 minutes when Shane Sutherland headed beyond goalkeeper Kenny Arthur after David Niven picked him out in the area.
However, the game turned on its head with just over 10 minutes to play when Elgin's number one Raymond Jellema was sent off for bringing down Matt Flynn and Scott Davidson duly converted from the penalty spot to level.
Then, with just six minutes left, Jim Chapman's men broke Elgin hearts when sub goalkeeper Stuart Black hesitated and Kenneth MacKay popped up inside the area to claim a valuable three points for the Black and Golds.
