Sweeney pulls Clyde off the bottom
John Sweeney's first-half penalty saw Clyde move off the bottom of the Scottish Third Division table as they beat Annan 1-0.
The hosts had a great opportunity to go ahead in the 44th minute when Scott Chaplain tried his luck from 30 yards out, but his superb effort was tipped over by Clyde goalkeeper Jamie Barclay.
But it was the Bully Wee who took the lead less than a minute later when John Sweeney scored his seventh goal of the season from the penalty spot following Iain Chisholm's foul on Stefan McCluskey in the area.
The visitors defended resolutely in the second half, barely giving Annan an opportunity to get into their area, and held on to record a 1-0 win.
