Kevin Cawley bagged a brace as East Stirling avoided finishing bottom of the Scottish Third Division with a 1-0 win over Annan.
In a first half with plenty of chances for both sides, Annan nearly took the lead in the 40th minute as Mark Docherty's free-kick was brilliantly saved by Michael Andrews.
Two minutes later, East Stirling broke the deadlock through Cawley, who finished from inside the box after a clever ball from John Neil on the right.
Annan goalkeeper Alex Mitchell made three saves in quick succession, denying Stephen Maguire, Scott Johnston and Derek Ure, as the hosts attempted to double their advantage.
They did just that, though, in stoppage time when Ure got away on the left before squaring for Cawley to grab his second from 12 yards.
