Annan came out on top of a five-goal thriller to win 3-2 against Elgin at Borough Briggs.
The home side started brightly in the opening ten minutes but Annan broke the deadlock on 12 minutes when Sean O'Connor struck left-footed from 18 yards. Elgin pressed on, Mark Nicholson headed wide after a Ross O'Donoghue delivery, and they doubled their lead on 39 minutes as Kevin Neilson found the bottom left of the goal from 12 yards.
Annan's Andrew Aitken was dismissed for a bad foul on Elgin's David Gormley two minutes into the second half and it was Gormley who headed home from close range to put Elgin back in contention.
Elgin were level after 69 minutes when Craig Gunn slotted home from the centre of the penalty area but Elgin pressed on. When Allan Dempsie put the ball into his own net on 84 minutes, Annan were again back in front and went on to claim all three points.
